HomePro 5.1 Speaker Review — Home Theater Sound
The HomePro 5.1 is HomeTech's premium line home theater system, with an active 10-inch subwoofer, two front channels with ribbon tweeters, and three omnidirectional satellites for side and rear channels. We tested the system for three weeks in a 28 m² room, calibrating with the included software and evaluating performance with both movies and stereo music.
Sound in Films and Surround Content
The HomePro 5.1's soundstage impresses in films with immersive mixes. The localization of sound effects in the rear and side channels is precise — helicopters fly with convincing trajectories, explosions have weight in the low end without muddying the mids. The 10" subwoofer delivers real impact down to 28 Hz with a variable crossover adjustment from 60 to 200 Hz, allowing proper integration with different room sizes.
The front channels with ribbon tweeters reproduce dialogue with clarity and naturalness that conventional dome tweeters rarely achieve — human voices sound with texture and presence that are often sacrificed in cheaper systems to prioritize the impact of effects. The microphone-based automatic calibration included adjusts the level and distance of each channel in less than three minutes.
Stereo Music and Verdict
In stereo mode, the HomePro positively surprises for a surround system: the stereo image is wide and coherent, with good instrument separation in well-produced recordings. The system doesn't rival dedicated studio monitors, but delivers results that satisfy for casual to casually audiophile listening. For medium-sized rooms that want an all-in-one quality solution without compromising on either movies or music, the HomePro 5.1 is one of the most complete options on the market.
